Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Postdoc for the Laboratory of Biophohotonics.
Open position in The Department of Optical and Biophysical Systems offers opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary and friendly environment under the guidance of established research team. You will take advantage of modern research facilities enabling carrying out cutting-edge research projects with freedom to operate and possibility to explore new solutions and innovations in the field of optical nanomaterials and optical sensors and biosensors.
Research Programme
The Department of Optical and Biophysical Systems has established new Biophotonics research group with the focus on optical biosensor technologies and spectroscopy. We seek to expand our research team in the direction of new EIC Pathfinder project WaterSense aiming at the development of a new tool for monitoring of pollution of water resources. It will combine development of new optical instrumentation utilizing SERS with micro/nano fluidic devices, tailored plasmonic nanoparticles, metal organic frameworks, and means for efficient manipulating via optical trapping and responsive hydrogel element means.
What do we expect
- Ph.D. in Physics, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Creativity and analytical thinking
- Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
- Previous experience in optical microscopy and/or bioanalytical techniques and/or micro/nano-fluidics and/or scientific instrumentation development.
- The ability to design optical instruments aided by optical simulations would be advantage.
