Institute of Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Researcher – Surface Chemistry and Electronic Structure.

What will you do

• Experimental Research in Surface Science:
  • Design and execution of experiments focused on surface reactions, catalysis, and chemical processes at interfaces.
  • Prepare and characterize thin films and nanostructures using deposition techniques (e.g., PLD, sputtering).
  • Investigation of electronic structure by XPS, UPS, BIS, and other spectroscopy methods (HREELS) under UHV conditions.
  • Participation in national and international projects and scientific collaborations.
• Scientific Output and Dissemination:
  • Preparation of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Presentation of research results at international conferences.
• Support of Collaborative Environment:
  • Support junior researchers and external laboratory users in experimental activities.

What do we expect   

• PhD in electrochemistry, physical chemistry or materials science.
• 5+ years of experience with proven track-record.
• Experience with electroanalytical characterization techniques.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

 Advantages:

• X-ray characterization or other complementary structural characterization techniques.
• Experience with thin film deposition methods (e.g., PLD, sputtering).
• Successful candidate is expected to use English both written and spoken, self-motivated and able to work in diverse environment.
